Dr. Hotze’s Expertise
Maintaining Good Health… Naturally
Dr. Hotze and his team at the Hotze Health & Wellness Center help people restore and maintain good health through a variety of natural approaches utilizing bioidentical hormones, nutrition, vitamin and mineral supplementation, and lifestyle changes. Dr. Hotze has helped thousands of people who suffer from hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, allergies, Candida (yeast overgrowth), and hormonal imbalances. Others are struggling with depression, fibromyalgia, and weight gain or inability to lose weight. They’ve tried other approaches in the past, including pharmaceutical drugs, that were unsuccessful, and came to the Center to try a natural approach.
By listening closely to their symptoms and tailoring a treatment plan to every individual, Dr. Hotze helps them get onto a path of wellness. Dr. Hotze is one of the leaders in the nation in the use of bioidentical hormones and has written extensively about how they help restore health and vitality, and are superior to the synthetic counterfeit hormones used in conventional medicine.
Hypothyroidism occurs when the thyroid gland doesn’t produce enough thyroid hormone, and also when your body is not able to assimilate thyroid hormone into your cells. People with hypothyroidism commonly experience fatigue, weight gain, depressed moods, hair loss, cold intolerance, muscle and joint pain, “brain fog,” and much more.
Unfortunately, hypothyroidism is severely under-diagnosed in the U.S., leaving millions of people suffering without knowing why. They may suspect the problem is hypothyroidism, but their regular doctor insists that their lab results are in the “normal” range and that there’s no problem.
Rather than base a treatment plan off of a single lab test, Dr. Hotze bases his treatment plan off of what people tell him about their symptoms. He’s helped thousands of people restore their thyroid health and improve their quality of life.
Adrenal fatigue is a result of improper functioning of the adrenal glands, which are responsible for producing several hormones including cortisol and adrenaline. The number one symptom of adrenal fatigue is severe fatigue. Other symptoms include anxiety, muscle and joint pain, low blood pressure, low libido, difficulty “bouncing back” from stress, and more. Like hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue is underdiagnosed. Many conventional doctors don’t even bring up the possibility of adrenal fatigue when speaking with patients who suffer from all the hallmark symptoms. Dr. Hotze treats adrenal fatigue with bioidentical cortisol to ease symptoms and correct the body’s hormone imbalance.
Hypothyroidism and adrenal fatigue are two of the most common conditions to arise from hormone imbalances, but there are more.
For women, undesirable symptoms of menopause and perimenopause including fatigue, anxiety, weight gain, insomnia, low libido, hair loss, pms and depression, can be put back in check by restoring hormone balance with bioidentical hormones. Dr. Hotze also looks at the hormonal causes of infertility in younger women.
For men, the most common hormonal imbalance is low testosterone. Low testosterone is most commonly associated with low libido, but it can also commonly lead to fatigue, depression, moodiness, sleep apnea, and more. Dr. Hotze treats low testosterone with bioidentical testosterone and bioidentical DHEA, a hormone produced by the adrenal glands that’s a precursor to testosterone.
Airborne & Food Allergies
The symptoms of allergies are well known: sneezing, itching, watery eyes, hives, skin rashes, and in cases of severe allergies, anaphylactic shock and even death.
Most people deal with allergies by avoiding the allergen when possible or “putting up” with the symptoms and treating them with a constant supply of antihistamines and decongestants.
Dr. Hotze knows that this band-aid approach doesn’t help you achieve wellness. It still puts your body through stress that reduces your overall health over time. Instead, he recommends sublingual allergy drops, which are a safe, effective allergy desensitization treatment, to address the root cause of allergies by strengthening your immune system.
Airborne & Food Allergies
Yeast infections are a common symptom of yeast overgrowth, or Candida, but there are others, too: constipation, indigestion, acid reflux, skin rashes, fatigue, headaches and abdominal cramps.
Dr. Hotze has found that the best way of treating Candida is a combination of a yeast-free diet and the introduction of good bacteria to restore health to the gut.
